Largo Banchi Nuovi - Napoli (NA)
Manager: Association of Engineers
The Congrega dei Barbieri, in 1616, bought the location which had been the site of the banks and changed the previous 16th-century loggia into a church. From this follows the origin of the particular construction of the church, which can be accessed through a 17th-century portal made of trachytic rock, whose frame is decorated with a cherub's head.
The central-plan interior is now lacking of paintings, as they are kept in a warehouse, apart from a panel on the high altar showing the Presentation to the temple and the Saints Cosma and Damiano by Antonio Rimpatta.
In the church we can still see the altars, remarkable is the greater one made of 18th-century polychrome marbles.
