S. Angelo dell'Ospedale Church

via Madonna dell'Ospedale - Ravello (SA)

The artefact described here is a church located in Ravello, a small town near the city of Salerno. Thanks to some researches, it is deduced it was built by local workers in the 15th century. This artefact is partially above ground, while the most of it is hollowed out in the rock. Therefore, this leads the chapel to be very humid inside and to be in very poor overall conditions. The chapel consists of a central room with two small lateral chapels. The central room is covered by barrel vaults. The structure is built in masonry. Inside you can see the floor made of squared terracotta tiles. The roof is double pitched with roman roof tiles.
