largo S. Martino, 5 - Napoli (NA)
The Charterhouse of St. Martin (Certosa di San Martino) is located on Vomero, a hilltop district of Naples, next to Castel Sant'Elmo. According to the architectural standards of the structures of the Charterhouses, the first installation was built in Gothic style by the architects Tino da Camaino and Attanasio Primario in 1325. The Charterhouse has been the subject to several interventions of extension and restoration by other renowned architects, including Cosimo Fanzago, who have made the Chartehouse an extraordinary monument of Baroque art. Since 1867, it has been a museum with relevant historical-artistic collections and Nativity Scene art pieces, but also with an interesting naval section.
